Therefore, WASSCE applicants must have credit passes or better (A1- C6) in six subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, namely: 

  • English Language;
  • Mathematics;
  • Integrated Science; or 
  • Social Studies.

Furthermore, you must obtain at least credit passes (i.e. A1 – C6) in your three relevant Elective Subjects.

 

SSSCE Applicants, Admission Requirement For Degree At UMAT

Likewise, the Minimum Admission Requirement into the University of Mines and Technology for SSSCE applicants is an aggregate of 36. For SSSCE applicants, the minimum requirement is an aggregate of 24.

Therefore, SSSCE applicants must have credit passes or better (A- D) in six subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, namely: 

  • English Language;
  • Mathematics;
  • Integrated Science; or 
  • Social Studies.

Furthermore, you must obtain at least credit passes (i.e. A – D) in your three relevant Elective Subjects.

 

O Level And A Level Applicants, Admission Requirement For Degree At UMAT

Notably, these applicants must have a GCE Ordinary Level Certificate or its equivalent with a pass in five subjects, including: 

  • English Language; 
  • Mathematics;
  • Physics; and 
  • Chemistry.

In addition to that, you should possess GCE Advanced Level Certificate with a pass in:

  • Mathematics;
  • Physics; and 
  • Chemistry.

 

Specially Sponsered Applicants, Admission requirement For UMAT Degree Programmes

  • Any other relevant external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE or SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels)
  • Baccalaureate (From any French-speaking country)
  • Foreign High School Diploma that is equivalent to WASSCE. 

Other International Students having equivalent qualifications may apply for admission. 

Notably, all applicants with Foreign Certificates must receive authentication and accreditation from the Ghana National Accreditation Authority.
