The Ghana Education Service GES – General Prospectus For Senior High Schools In Ghana For 2023. GES requires all students enrolling at Senior High Schools in Ghana for the 2023 academic year to have the following items.

Emphatically speaking, the free SHS policy does not cover the items listed below.

In other words, the government scholarship for SHS students needs to include the things listed below.

Therefore, the government will not provide these items to the school children. As a result, parents should ensure they buy these things for their children when reporting for admission.

The free SHS policy is a government scholarship for children in Ghana’s public senior high schools.

Thus, the parent must procure these items for their wards in SHS in Ghana. Indeed, these items are for personal use by the students at the school. 

 

Admission Prospectus For SHS In Ghana 2023

Before we look at the list of items students must present, parents must take note of the following important information:

• First, every student should bring a National Health Insurance Card.
• Secondly, the school will send every students who do not bring the required number of article home immedidately to bring the items.
• Also, all new students must be medically fit. Therefore, schools expect every student to participate in all PE exercises and school work. Some schools school will conduct a medical examination for all sctudents.

 

Unaccepted Items For Admission – SHS

Students should refrain from bringing the following items to the school. In other words, SHS schools regard these items as unprescribed at senior high schools in Ghana. 

Emphatically, the material includes the following:

• Electrical appliances and Sound systems are not allowed in the boarding house.
• No cell (mobile) phones, iPod Walkman and Discman player, MP3, water heater, rice cooker, stove, rechargeable lamp, fan, video and TV, laptop, etc. are permitted.
• SHS Schools do not entertain any case of SPECIAL DIET. 
• We advice parents not to give out excessive amounts of money to their children as pocket money. The maximum dose should be GH₵ 50.

The prospectus for boys going to the boarding house differs from day student boys.

First-year male boarders entering Senior High Schools in Ghana in 2023 must present the following items for admission processing:

• 1 pair of white trousers and shirts embossed with school crest @ GH¢ 75
• 1 khaki trousers & white shirts @ GH¢ 75

• Two Antiseptic (Dettol)
• Small chop box (GH₵55.00)
• one mosquito net (GH₵20)

Likewise, girls who are boarders must make sure they have the following items for inspection during admission into SHS1 in Ghana:

• Two Green check dresses – @ GH₵ 90

Also, female day students must make sure they have the following items for inspection during admission into SHS1 in Ghana:

• Two check dresses
• Bible
• One mop a plastic long broom & Two (2) towels or rags (for cleaning)

• Health insurance (compulsory)
