- First, have credit passes in at least five (5) subjects in your GCE ordinary level (O Level) exams.
- Secondly, remember that you must possess credit passes in:

- Mathematics
- Integrated Science

- Three (3) credit passes at the A-Level (Advanced Level).
Remember that at least grade D in two of those subjects relevant to the course you are applying for.

Professional Qualification Holders, Requirement To Read Degree At UEW
These are applicants who possess advanced certificates or professional certificates from institutions such as:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA, Ghana)
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA, UK)
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
- Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB)
- Chartered Institute of Taxation
- Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators
- Cambridge International College (CIC, UK)
- Institute Of Commercial Management (ICM, UK)
- Institute of Professional and Executive Development (IPED, UK)
Notably, applicants possessing these Professional Certificates must apply with a minimum of Part 1 or Foundation Stage.
Also, the National Accreditation Authority must clear all applicants with Professional certificates and send the evaluation report to the University.
Certificate A Applicants, Requirement To Read Degree At UEW
Here, we refer to applicants who possess Cert A from a recognized Teacher Training College in Ghana or elsewhere.
In that case, you must have passes in:
- English;
- Mathematics; and
- Two subjects at GCE ‘O’ level or SSSCE/Wassce or GBC or RSAII level.

These are applicants with Advanced Business Certificate Examination i.e. ABCE seeking admission to UEW.

First, you must have at least a grade of ‘E’ or better in three subjects which relate to the course you are applying.
Secondly, of which at least one of the 3 subjects should be grade D or better.

Post-Diploma Applicants, Requirement To Read Degree At UEW
Interestingly, the University of Education, Winneba, admits Post-Diploma applicants to study degree programs at level 300.
It means you will skip level 100 and level 200 of the program and enter straight at Level 300.
Thus, you will use two (2) years to study a four (4) year degree course at the University.
