CUG Admission Requirements For Degree Programs
The Catholic University of Ghana admits students with different qualifications to read degree programs.

- Wassce Applicants
- SSSCEApplicants
- GCE Applicants
- HND Holders
- International Applicants
- Mature Applicants
- Professional Certificate Holders
Wassce Applicants, Admission Requirements At CUG
- Core Mathematics (A1-C6)
- English Language (A1-C6)
- Integrated Science (A1-C6)
- Social Studies (A1-C6)
Plus three relevant Electives or their equivalence
SSSCE Applicants, Admission Requirements At CUG
- Core Mathematics (A1-D5)
- English Language (A1-D5)
- Integrated Science (A1-D5)
- Social Studies (A1-D5)
Plus three appropriate Electives or their equivalence.
GCE Applicants, Admission Requirements At CUG
Applicant should have ‘A-Level passes in three (3) subjects, including General Paper.
Furthermore, you should obtain credit passes in five ‘O’ Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
HND Holders, Applicants Admission Requirements At CUG
Applicants must have HND 1ST Class or 2ND Class Upper in the relevant field with minimum entry requirements at the WASSCE/SSSCE.
Furthermore, applicants should have two or more years of working experience
Alson, applicants will be required to take an aptitude test.
NB: Transcripts at the HND level and copies of WASSCE/SSSCE certificate(s) should be added.
International Applicants, Admission Requirements At CUG
Applicants with International Qualifications from recognized institutions may be considered for admission upon clarification and interpretation by WAEC or the National Accreditation Board of Ghana.
Mature Applicants, Admission Requirements At CUG
Applicants who do not satisfy the basic admission requirement can also apply if they meet the following stipulation by the institution.
- Applicants must be 25 years of age with two or more years of working experience
- Mature applicants must pass an entrance exam and interview by the University
Professional Certificate Holders, Admissions At CUG
Holders of the following certificates or their equivalence can also apply for admission.
- First, holders of Part 1and two certificates in ICA, ACCA, CIMA, etc., can apply and be considered for admission into Level 200 in a related discipline after passing the mature entrance examination. (applicants should include transcripts).
- Second, holders of Certificate / Diploma in Education in SRN, RGN, RM. can apply and gain admission to Level 200 after passing the mature entrance examination. (applicants should include transcripts).
- Thrid, Teacher’s Cert ‘A’ or Diploma in Education holders can apply and may be considered for admission to level 200 after passing the entrance examination. (applicants should include transcripts).
NOTE: Applicants with professional certificates/diplomas should include Transcripts and copies of previous level academic qualification(s).
